Pricing has changed on some camps as they are now being offered as full day camps from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Summer Abridged Play Camp (formerly One-Act Play Camp)

Ages: 6-17
Dates: June 26th to 30th, 2017
Time: 8:30am to 2:30pm
Location: Damonte Ranch Performing Arts School (PAC)

Prerequisite:      Must be able to read, smile and like having fun while learning!

Get ready to create and learn important life skills that work on and off the stage. KidScape Productions abridged, one week camps offers ages 6-17 to get hands on with all aspects of putting up a show. Starting off with campers choosing the material, assigning a director, stage manager and casting.  Throughout the week each camper has the opportunity to create sets, props, costumes, design hair and makeup, while building a character and acting on stage!  Our staff guides campers with professional techniques and safety.  The week culminates in a free, all ages community performance. Campers will:

  • Pick material. (1-2 abridged plays)
  • Assign director, stage manager, actors and tech. (students may easily have multiple roles)
  • Create all sets, props, costumes and design hair and makeup.
  • Guided by professionals.
  • Put up a show in a single week.

Some of the skills learned through acting, improvisation and role play include: verbal/nonverbal communication skills, creative thinking & problem solving, emotional understanding and regulation, empathy & compassion, quality & carry through, motivation & commitment, collaboration & teamwork, independent thinkers, time management skills, initiative, active listening, adaptability & flexibility, ability to work under pressure & personal discipline, leadership, forward thinking and fun!

Kidscape Productions uses research based applications in improvisation, role-play and professional theatre techniques. Our passion is to help participants hone in on team work, social awareness, emotional understanding and confidence in presenting.

Ages 7-17, get ready to make new friends while learning the ins and outs of professional theatre!  Campers will have the opportunity to dive into acting or backstage roles and together put up a full play in a single week!!  Announcing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and kSp encourages beginning to advanced actors and tech to join us!  www.KidScapeProductions.com is a professional theatre, improv, role play and life skills company focused on instilling skills that work on & off the stage.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Young Charlie Bucket can’t believe his luck when he finds the very last of Mr. Willy Wonka’s Golden Tickets inside his chocolate bar. He wins the trip of a lifetime, a magical tour around Mr. Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Once inside, Charlie and the other four winners–Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teavee–witness amazing wonders: rainbow drops, lickable wallpaper, and even a chocolate waterfall. But what happens when the children, one by one, disobey Mr. Wonka?

Note: Pre-registration required. No walk-ins or drop-ins allowed for this specific camp. Backstage age requirement is 10 and older.

Summer Improv Camp : Ages 6-16 in Truckee

Laugh a lot and make new friends while learning professional short form improve comedy! KidScape Productions curriculum was developed at Juilliard and Yale School of Drama and offers campers the opportunity to explore hidden talents, improve communication skills and ignite their imaginations. Camp ends in a free community performance on the final day at 1pm. KidScape Productions offers new games each camp/class, no experience is necessary and repeat students are encouraged to attend. Ages 6-16. Single day, drop-ins available ($50/day drop-in | $199 for the week with a one-time materials fee of $15 (pay materials fee directly to instructor at first day)
